Primary Election Retro Twist: Mechanical Lever Voting Machines

Today's primary election used the 1960's era mechanical lever voting machines that were hauled out of retirement.  While a new electronic voting system was implemented in 2010, the short window this year between the primary and a potential runoff would not have left enough time to certify results, print millions of new ballots and re-program the new machines. Thus, the old machines were resurrected.  For the general election in November, it's back to the electronic system.

It's a good thing they kept the old machines around!
